Servant of God Don Dolindo Ruotolo (October 6, 1882 – November 19, 1970)
Don Dolindo's Bible commentary is a remarkable 33-volume work that illuminates the wisdom, love, and goodness of God revealed in Scripture. With a pastoral and accessible approach, his goal was to help readers grow closer to God and live the Christian life more fully. In his defense of biblical inerrancy, Don Dolindo cautioned against excessive criticism that can cloud spiritual truths. He used a poignant analogy to illustrate this point, suggesting that casting unnecessary doubt on the food one is eating can undermine their enjoyment and trust in it. His contagious love and fervor captivate and inspire, making his commentary anything but boresome. Don Dolindo's monumental work deserves to be rediscovered by new generations seeking to deepen their knowledge and love of God's word.
Soon after reading the first few chapters of his commentary, I became interested in studying his writings and his life journey. I find myself committed to translating this comprehensive commentary into English. Through those translation efforts, I hope that the teachings of Don Dolindo would be more widely known and would inspire others with his deep insights into the scripture.
